Chiefly the correspondence of this professor of rhetoric and elocution at Swarthmore College (1870-1880) and the University of Minnesota (1881-1909). It concerns her work at those institutions; her lectures throughout the United States on literature, art, and education; her interest in civic enterprises in Minneapolis; and various reform movements. It is accompanied by newspaper clippings on those subjects and by printed materials from several of the organizations with which she was associated or to which she lectured.
